Melancholia - Lars Von Trier

I watched Lars Von Trier's "Melancholia" last week and I was so impressed that even now that a week has passed the movie is still stuck in my mind!

Lars Von Trier is a "difficult" director and his movies are not likeable from everyone.
He suffers from depression and many fobias , he has himself once said "Basically, I'm afraid of everything in life except filmmaking" , "persona non grada" lately in Cannes Festival, he sees things from another point of view and he makes masterpieces!

In this film, he allows us to see into his soul and to travel along with him..
Melancholia is about two sisters, their relationship and their lives while a strange blue planet , melancholia is approaching earth with the danger to collide with earth.

The film is devided in two chapters , Jastin and Claire. Each one of them is about the life , thoughts and feeling of the sisters.

Then the movie begins and you feel like you have visited a gallery and you're wandering around , looking at magnificent paintings while the incredible Wagner's music is overflowing the air.
The photography is amazing, my top scene though is the one when Kirsten Danst is lying naked on a rock under the blue planet light. It was like a renaissance painting and so beautiful that it will be forever in my mind.
Wagner's music , prelude Tristan and Izolde sometimes calm and others pretty intense makes you feel like you're part of the movie. Just amazing!   http://youtu.be/yKlKbrxMcE0
You feel enchanted from the very first moment!

The end very intense and sensational. The acting superb.  "Melancholia" is just magic!
Lars Von Trier combined painting , music and cinema and made an astonishing film!
You should see it!
